Last month I was a little bit liberal with my spending budget so I promised myself (and Travis) that for the next few months I won't make ANY online purchases (with exception of getting Andrew's Christmas present if it goes on sale). Instead of spending that hour each day window shopping online, I'm going to try to get myself exercising instead. With that said, I'll still pass on any great deals/offers that I get in my email or hear about.
Before I end this post I've got to tell you about my recent customer service experience with Yankee Candle. I'm a big fan of their food scents (Pumpkin Pie, Good Morning, Golden Spiced Pear, and Berry Crumble are my favorites). I've been a YC fan for about 15 years now and I love that I can get their votives for about $1 each to try out (they burn for 8-10 hours), so I can sample the scents in my home before buying full size candles. Since we live so far away I have to purchase them online and I recently got a couple large jar candles at half price, but the people in their shipping dept. packed them on their sides and in this summer heat the oil (?) in them separated and leaked out the side of the jar lid, melting a 2" hole through the foam packing mold and soaking the box. I was upset that I had just paid premium prices for candles that were now defective, so I sent them an email to tell them what happened. Within a couple hours I received an email from their customer loyalty team stating that they would be sending replacements at no cost to me (without having to return the others to them) and apologized for the inconvenience. This is the kind of customer service you expect (but rarely find) nowadays, and I just wanted to pass this on.
