I just have to share this great find in digital cameras. I've had my eye on this camera for the last couple years and this year, it finally found its way home to me. :)
Rather than writing a summary about the camera, here's a link to the product page for it on amazon.com so you can check it out and read up on all the details and customer reviews. The regular price is $399, but during the holidays it's on sale for $259. In my opinion, a GREAT deal!!!
This beauty is loaded with all the features a picture-taking mommy could hope for in a mid-priced camera. My favorites are that it can film in HD, take up to 13 pictures in one second, focus in on and track up to 15 faces at once (great for group portraits), and has an "intelligent auto mode" where the camera figures out what mode it should use to take the picture. Compared to my old Fuji Finepix camera, this baby is INCREDIBLE!!!!
In doing my homework on this camera, I found lots of reviews by professional photographers where they rated it the best buy of the year for an affordable camera that anyone could use. The fact that I can take pictures inside at night and they come out clear.... that sold me. I've had it for a couple weeks now and so far I've taken about 600 pictures.... it's THAT fun! If you are looking for a new camera or know anyone who is, then check this one out. 'Nuff said!

A great camera. Prices have been bouncing around at bit. Amazon had it at $240 one night, then went up to $279. I missed that but picked one up at B&H for $240 (shipping included) a week later. Noticed an hour after I got it, B&H was "out of stock" and the next day the price was $270. Panasonic is aggresively slicing into Canon and Nikon's market share.
I bought the FZ28 instead of a Nikon or Canon ultra-zoom not on price however but because because of its
1.Leica lens.
2.Longer battery life
3.RAW format
4.shorter shutter lag
